mySQL

puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuleeeeeeeeeeze
Sorry...Man, talking about SLOW...It wasn't too fast to begin with, now, with this "upgrade"...And why is it "running" on mySQL?|||what slow?
It doesn't even open most of the times..

Once i had a heated discussion with my previous management, they wanted to use mysql for our new site, i was against it ( ) this would have been a perfect example to put forth (though i managed to convince them for ms sql).|||Hah... BTW what is MySQL...
Once you're equiped with Ferrari engine... will you be interested to go in old dodgy ford .. ;-)|||Well, I've heard that MySQL can be considerably faster than other database engines because it is stripped of all the additional functionality that can be found in more advanced products such as SQL Server. Benchmarks, anybody?|||The internals are vastly different...suppose to make it extremely fast...

But haven't heard much in the way of scalability..

Plus it's free and open source...

If the problem is not mySQL, but something else, the isp should indicate that...

Hey, it's always good to add another rdbms...doesn't mean I'd like to be on that project|||I've heard that too, but I haven't seen it. And "open source" means that your support can only come from the web, nobody to call, just the forums like this one, odd sites, nothing specific. What if you don't have internet access when your/mySQL is down? Knock on the neighbor's door to borrow his family PC for an hour or two?
